What Vorratsfuchs can do

Everything that’s in the app – and nothing that’s only planned. That’s on the pricing page.

Shared shopping list

One list for the whole household. Whoever adds, changes or ticks something changes it for everyone. Ticked items slide down to “In the trolley”; one tap on “Undo” brings them back. Whoever shops without the app gets the list as text via messenger.

Several at once – spoken, too

Type or say everything in one go, with amounts and units. On your phone the keyboard microphone is enough: handy when your hands are full, in the kitchen or at the trolley. One sentence becomes separate entries.

Pantry by storage place

Ticked purchases appear in the pantry automatically – with a guessed category and a matching storage place, both changeable. Count quantities down with “one less”; when it’s empty, it’s used up.

Used up or thrown away

When clearing out, you say whether something was eaten or thrown away – and why. That will feed the weekly review later.

Freshness, even without a date

If you enter the best-before date – type it or just photograph the print –, that counts, and Vorratsfuchs remembers it: next time you buy the same product, the app estimates like last time. If your household doesn’t know a product yet, what other households have reported anonymously for the same barcode helps. Otherwise it estimates from the shopping day by category, deliberately cautious. In the freezer it’s at least 90 days. Opened something? One tap is enough: opened food keeps for less time, and the reminder takes it into account.

One reminder a day

If something in the pantry has expired, is due today or soon, you get one notification a day – by default at 17:00, you choose the time. Everyone in the household switches it on for themselves; it starts off.

Scan barcodes

Hold the pack up to the camera and Vorratsfuchs looks up name and category – in the free product database Open Food Facts. If it doesn’t know the product, you type the name once. New QR codes on packs and the DataMatrix code on medicines often carry the best-before date already – then it lands in your pantry without typing.

Photograph receipts

Lay the receipt flat and photograph it from above. Text recognition runs on your phone and understands weights (“0.456 kg × 2.99 €/kg”), quantities (“2 × 0.89”) and deposits. In a preview you check everything and take only what you want.

So the fox reads receipts better for everyone, the app anonymously shares only the goods section of the receipt – without shop, date, payment and with no link to your account. Details in the privacy policy. Privacy

Review in euros

How much did you buy, eat and throw away in the last 7 or 30 days – in euros, by category, with the most expensive leftovers and the reasons. Prices come from the receipt (or you type them), and something thrown away half-used only counts with what was left. So you can see whether it’s getting less.

Due again?

What you buy regularly and have just used up, the shopping list suggests by itself – one tap and it’s on. It doesn’t suggest things you threw away: there was probably too much of those. For anything that must never run out, set a minimum stock – for milk just as for ibuprofen or screws. If fewer are left, it shows up at the top of the list.

Recipe ideas from what’s about to expire

Chicken due tomorrow, yoghurt too? The home screen suggests everyday recipes that fit – with what you have, and says what’s missing – one tap puts it on the shopping list. Meat and fish first. The recipes live in the app and work offline too.

One household, one link

You create the household and send the invite link to everyone who shops with you. The link is valid for 7 days and can be renewed any time; the code can also be typed in. All of the household’s data can be downloaded as a file at any time. Anyone who should only look gets “read only”.

Offline in the shop

List and pantry live on the device. Without a connection everything keeps working; once you’re back online, Vorratsfuchs syncs with the others. If two people tick the same thing at once, it still lands in the pantry only once.

An app without an app store

Vorratsfuchs runs in the browser and can be added to the home screen on iPhone and Android like an app. Light, dark or like the device – your choice.
